Hi all,
I am a developer since the 80s with lots of projects in enterprises, mainly OO languages.
Came to Erlang, Elixir and the functional paradigm a few years ago.
Born in Austria, I am living in Vienna, but lately I spend most of my time in Kenya trying to finish my book about Erlang andd Elixir. My next book about Elm is already waiting for me…

“Hello World” |> IO.puts
I’m living in a small lovely town just northwest of Hamburg, Germany and studying CS.
When I am not playing with my 4-years old son, I do either do study-related stuff, try to dig deeper into programming on my own, do something with my wife or simply relax in front of my PS4 playing Fallout 4.
I have already diverged from most of my co-students, which stick to languages taught at the university, but I am very keen on functional programming since the first semestre (where we got a short introduction using Haskell). Most of my Hobby-Coding is related to FP in one or another way.
Also I have a university-project right now, which involves documenting, refactoring and extending a piece of erlang software, which was developed a few years ago at my university for programming contests. Due to the installed erlang version at the university I have to maintain compatibility to OTP-16B3 (which is really a burden I think).

Hi I am Sreyans from Kolkata India. I run a webdev shop in Kolkata India. Switched to elixir Phoenix for all our projects. Nice to meet you all.
Thanks

Hi everyone! I just got my Elixir/Phoenix/Tailwind/LiveView app Goblin live for my Founding Goblins (people who paid to sign up for my waitlist lol). I hadn’t built any apps with Elixir before this but I’m starting to “get it” and be able to add features more quickly. It took ~70 days to code the MVP.
I’ve come to this forum a ton while I was developing–thank you all for being so friendly! It feels like the “anti-stackoverflow”.
I deployed it on Fly.io and their support/docs have been great. I actually have users in Australia & Scotland so I’m glad that I have the option to spin up new servers easily in other countries.
Anyway, nice to meet everyone!

Hello,
I’m Mohamed, from Egypt, but living now in Greater Boston Area. Working as a Full Stack developer, mainly with React and nodejs. But so interested in functional programming paradigm (I’ve been trying to write functional code in JS, it’s tough but with ES6 it’s a bit easier).
I went to Boston’s Elixir meetup for the first time and it was fun. Now I’m amazed by the Elixir capabilities, especially the readability of code and how simple the language is. The community is amazing too. So I hope I can work someday with it
