State of PDF handling in Elixir
Hello all. We have a requirement to render text over the top of an existing PDF. In detail this would be something like:
- Starting with an existing multi-page PDF document.
- Place text at an x, y location on particular page.
- Repeat until all text and images have been placed.
Keeping this in mind, has anybody done something similar to this with Pdf — PDF v0.7.1 (or any other PDF library in Elixir).
Trying to figure out if this is something we can do natively or if we’re going to need to reach for a third party library. The text_at functionality of the Pdf library certainly looks like what we need however I’m a bit unclear if this library can work with existing documents.
Thanks!

Would be interested to hear what you went with? I couldn’t find anything that was pure Elixir, but have gotten good results using a NIF and the Rust library lopdf.
